Welcome to Term 2

Hi Everyone,
I hope you all had a fantastic holiday break. We were very lucky with the beautiful weather. This week starts the beginning of the pre-service teacher’s class placement. Miss Brylee Tilbrook will be with us for six weeks and will start some teaching this week, working up to full days by the end of her placement. Please make her feel welcome. Any questions please come and see me.
Thursday the 3rd of May is our excursion to the museum. The weather forecast is not looking promising for the playground visit. If it does rain we will just come back to school after the museum. Renee and I have a plan B in place should this happen.
Please just send the childrens’ recess and lunches in a named plastic bag. No need to send school bags, literacy folders or the communication bags.

This term is looking very busy already.

Cheers

Karina

Welcome to Term One 2018

Hi Everyone,

The children are settling in well and getting used to our class routines. They are learning that Kindy is very different to school. You may be noticing that they are very tired and this is normal.

To help the children with their sense of belonging in the classroom, could please send along a family photo in a frame and a cushion for relaxation. This cushion can also be used on their chair. Today we played maths games for the numbers 1-5. We have started blending our first three sounds s/a/t into words. We have been spending time learning routines, school values, and our class agreement.

Can you please may sure that you are connecting to the daymap portal as I send lots of quick messages and reminders this way.

Thanks

Karina

Weather Wise

Hi Everyone,

This term our inquiry unit is Weather Wise. We will be looking at how the weather is constantly changing and affects living things.

  • How we adapt to changes in the weather
  • How the weather affects living things
  • The different types of weather patterns we experience.

It would be great if you could have discussions about the weather together and watch some weather reports on the news. We will be also learning  about Space and the Planets. The kids have come up with some great inquiry questions. Please come and have a look.

As it is term 3 it means time to put the hats back on. Please make sure the hats are at school.

Cheers
Karina
