Please sign the return slip and pay the money as soon as possible as the performance is next Tuesday (Week 6).  This Friday is the Book Week assembly and I look forward to seeing the children all dressed up in their costumes.

Book Fair

Hi Everyone,

Today our class visited the Book Fair and had a look at the books for sale. The children are coming home with a wish list of the books they liked in their communication books. The library is open before and after school for purchases and the Fair runs until Tuesday close of school.

This week in maths we have continued our work on fractions looking at halves, quarters and eighths. We have been busy researching our farms and gaining an understanding of the jobs a farmer needs to do for each season. We have been enjoying Charlotte’s Web and learning the skill of summarising a chapter of a text.

A reminder that tomorrow is school photo day, please remember to bring the photo envelope to school.

Thank you to Lucinda for her work with the children over the last four weeks. They have enjoyed their learning with you. Good luck for your teaching career in the future.

Cheers

Karina

School Photos/Week 3

Hi Everyone,

Coming home today is a personalised envelope for school photos. The photo day will be Friday 15th of August. Please return the envelope on the day with correct money. You can also pay online if you wish.  Even if you do not wish to purchase photos, your child will be photographed on the day for school records. If you require a family photo please see the front office staff for an envelope.

Please return the Footsteps Dance note as soon as possible. If your think you  have misplaced the note please let me know and I will send home another one.

This week we are working on fractions in maths using the vocabulary of halves and quarters and finding fractions in our everyday lives. What fraction did you use to cut the sandwich?

We have been working hard on the strategy of summarising information in reading. A skill that is very useful for remembering and understanding a text. The children are enjoying listening to Charlotte’s Web.

We are continuing our work on farms and the children have learnt what it means for the farmer when there is no water in the dam. A drought is a major catastrophe on the farm!

Cheers
