Here is the list of topics for Sharing in term 2. Many relate to our Inquiry Unit- Music to My Ears. As part of the Listening and Speaking skills development the students will be assessed on their presentations.

Bullying No Way Day/Harmony Day

Hi Everyone,

Today was Bullying No Way Day/National Action Against Bullying. We have done many activities today around what bullying is and isn’t, what it means to be mean and what a good friend looks like. We watched ‘The Allen Adventure’ on you tube. The story is about an alien who comes to our planet to live and is not a nice character. We explored situations that Allen had found himself in and discussed what was bullying and what was being mean. Bullying is repeated verbal, physical, social or psychological behaviour that is harmful and involves the misuse of power by an individual or group towards one or more persons. Cyberbullying refers to bullying through information and communication technologies.

On Monday it will be Harmony Day, a day to celebrate Cultural Diversity and Belonging. The children can wear something orange to support Harmony Day.

Cushions and family photo

Hi Everyone,

The children would like to use cushions during relaxation. I am happy for them to bring in pillow pets or cushions and have explained that they can only use their own. Can they please be named to save confusion.

Each year an important part of belonging in the class is having something from home. Can you please send in a family photo in a frame that we can display for the year. The children enjoy seeing the photos.

Swimming

Hi Everyone,

Please pay for swimming if you have not done so. If it is not paid for this week the student will not be allowed to attend.

To make leaving the pool easier can you please put into the swimming bag a dressing gown/bath robe and thongs. I have only 10 minutes to get everyone dried and dressed and back onto the bus.
